Ah Lek Bak Kut Teh (Tmn Johor Jaya) 

Today i am recommending my top No 1 Favourite Bak Kut Teh (BKT). Ah Lek Bak Kut Teh, The boss had been selling bak kut teh since i was kid which means at least 20 yrs. previously he is located in taman Sentosa. about ten yrs ago they had moved here to Tmn Johor Jaya.

They are selling per bowl BKT since long time ago. I love the taste very much that i had it almost every sunday morning, if you going there to eat on sunday morning you have a very big chance of meeting me there haha.

They had win numerous compliment from professional gourmet reviewer such as Ah Hong from Taiwan, Kuang Ming Newspaper. They had even win top 5 Johor's BKT contest (i forgot who is the judge could be ah hong or ??).

What  is so special about this Ah Lek BKT? Must order in this place

1. Bak Kut Teh - strong in Herbal and Pepper taste, apart of the spice taste, most importantly it's soup is brewed for few hour of pig bone. thus it also has a tasty aroma soup! Must take note that sometime the pork is a bit too hard, I normally will request them to give me tender meat. 
2. Braised Pig Leg - Apart from it's Top rated BKT, this is another No 1 Best selling dish. I would boast they had the best Braised pig leg i ever had till now. 
3. Salty Vegetable - I love this dish very much too! 
4. a pot of Tie Guan Yin Chinese tea. 

at least 2 person to eat then you can have it all! 

There is also 1 more thing that i like this restaurant very much is the staff working there. all is their family members and relative. thus i always get very friendly serving service. if you are an regular, they even could remember what is your style of eating, such as drinks, and are you still waiting for your friend etc. unlike other's shop that their assistance has already replaced by vietnamese or bangladesh. If you understand what i meant.

Storia Cafe Famous for Otak Otak

Looking for a nice Breakfast in Johor Bahru? Try this Storia Cafe (Non Halal), it sells Economy Mee, Mee hon, Nasi Lemak, and Otak Otak.
This place is famous for it's homemade Otak Otak. They sold a lot of otak daily. most famous for it's Fish head Otak. it is a must try!

on this trip (refer to the photo) i did not manage to eat his fish head otak due to have to wait, and i was rushing to somewhere. i only manage to have some normal otak-otak

Others food is just ok only *not special one i will not want to blog bout it :(
Must try = Otak Otak. 
*Tips to eat is must not eat it while it is hot! dunno why while hot it's taste is rather bland. but the more cooler the otak is the more tasty it is. if somebody can enlighten me..

Pass by Ulu Tiram with an empty stomach during noon? wanna look for something nice to eat? try this!

Another one old player famous for good food in Johor, this is located in Ulu Tiram. It is famous for it's nice and sweet curry gravy. Qiu Bo's Curry is special from other's curry taste. 

I feel it has a very strong taste of of coconut milk, but it is type of sweet and fresh fragrance. and it does not taste very spicy.. just mild spicy, good for those who are not spicy food lover. 

Everyday it is flocked with a lot of customer during lunch hour. you might have to wait awhile for a table during peak hour. but the patrons is mostly their regular customer who has already fallen in love with their unique coconut taste curry. 

Taste of  the curry will kill off the smelly fish odor, and why Fish head? Well Fish head has to most delicate fish meat among the whole fish, Especially on the fish Cheek, back neck, and "fish Jelly" or skin on  its face and lips. this is why older people like fish head, while the young man will go for the body due to more meat. it is Quality Vs Quantity theory. Ha ha.. 

So what we must order here? 

1. Curry Fish Head (咖喱鱼头) - Of course it is the main Male actor of the movie mah! 
2. Curry Pork Rib (咖喱排骨) - this is the main Female actor of the movie!
3. Handmade Fish Ball  - trust me, it is very bouncy, you can do ping pong ball with this exactly what you had seen in Stephen Chow Movie (Good of cookery). so you are gonna have a nice chewing session. 
4. Handmade Otak-Otak - this is also a must try! it's taste is as good as muar's Otak-Otak.

Malaysian Rally 2011 Special Stage 12 & 13

Whats Hot in Johor? Malaysian Rally 2011!
3rd day of Malaysian Rally - at last i manage to arrange some time watch it LIVE in Kota Tinggi Tai Tak.
it was a hot afternoon, i am watching the stage 12 & 13 only. I am no fans for Rally and also a 1st timer Spectator even though it has hold many times in Johor.
Sad to say that Malaysian Rally advertising is not enough or informative enough..
1st thing is not many people in Johor Bahru know about this Nor understand what it is. I am not sure what the official going to do about that. definitely that PC fair has more spectator than this RARE Rally race in Johor.
2nd thing is that we tried very hard to get the information on the internet before we understanding the Racing time, venue ETC.
When we on the way to the racing track we still unsure whether the track is open to the public or not. Well this is sad because i believe that many people will decide to drop their plan because of the uncertainty..
Hope the official do more about that. I am proud that it is hold in Johor and i am able to view it LIVE here without travelling far.
I also sure that many Johoreans will like it too. so Official Pls Do something to increase it's Awareness and information!!
